VIVA LA VIDA

In this oportunity I will write about 2 pieces of art  that I like. The first painting is Viva la Vida, de Frida Kalho. This paint is so interesting for many reasons, because the colours and the history. In most all books about Frida  they say that this is the last painting, because  painting say "Viva la Vida - Coyoacán 1954 Mexico" written 8 days before her death. However, the quality of this still life, is because Frida was heavily dependent on injections of Demerol and Morphine which the illness made him very weak.
The author, Salomon Grimberg, in the book "Frida Kahlo - The Still Lifes", suggests that "Viva la Vida" could not have been painted in 1954 and was probably painted in 1952 but the inscription was not included at that time. Sensing that death was imminent, just days before her death one last time Frida dipped her brush into the red paint to add the inscription and sign it…as if she was "signing off".

Starry Night Over the Rhone, is a popular painting that was that was drawn in September 1888 by Vincent van Gogh.  The painting is set on the banks of Rhone River that passes near Place Lamartine, a place where the artist had rented an apartment.

The second painting I liked only because your colours, and because in Valdivia, in the riber I liked how the lights reflected in the water, same in the sea, in Arica, in the port. The scene is very romantic, but also is great the sky and stars.

  1. I almost wrote about Starry night too. That man was amazing. Too bad his life was so miserable; perhaps he could have done more wonderful things back in his days...
